The pink coat with the fur, the (faux) fur

A pink coat. When this trend came about last autumn/winter I was so not about it, sticking steadfast to my parka for casual and my monochrome for slightly more presentable times. But then I saw this beauty in the Zara sale online this January and with a sweet £50 off I ordered it ASAP. I was finally in possession of a pink coat - just a year behind the trend. I love the versatility of this one; it dresses up a super-casj outfit and finished off a sweet/chic look. Here's how I'll wear it day and night.

DAY

Coat - Zara // T-Shirt - River Island // Jeans - Topshop
Hat - ASOS // Boots - New Look // Necklace - Gift

NIGHT

Top - H&M // Jeans - Topshop // Shoes - ASOS
Bag - Chanel

The Birthday Suit

Coat - H&M // Treggings - Zara // Scarf - Aldo // Hat - Aldo
Bag - Chanel

After a kind of rambly post on Monday, (the kind of reflective crap you spout on your birthday after a couple of glasses of bucks fizz), I thought I'd bring it back to light with an outfit post.

I think it's now a time-honoured tradition for me to wear a hat on my birthday. Strange I know, but I'm strange - and I got this hat along with the scarf for Christmas, so it was only right that I gave it it's first outing. It does remind me slightly of Pharrell's notorious hat, but whatevs.

Six Shades of Lipstick

I’m not going to lie, I own far far too many lipsticks - so much so that I have a special lip product draw and in this lip product draw I have special sections for each group of colours; reds, nudes and pinks (then balms, gloss and crayons…) In Autumn I tend to veer away from pinks and embrace darker and duskier nudes and reds with the odd berry thrown in for good measure. These beauties are my favourites…
(Clockwise from top right)

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 108 Determinee, £26
M.A.C Lipstick in Capricious, £15
Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope lipstick in Entourage, £35
Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Scotch On The Rocks Lipstick in Bordeaux, £22
Flori Roberts Lipstick in 12609, £11.95
Burberry Lipstick in Bright Plum no.15,  £23

Picking a favourite from these beauties is like picking a favourite child.

Tassels and Rips.

Vest - Topshop // Waistcoat - TJ Maxx (in Miami) // Jeans - Topshop
Boots - New Look // Bag - Chanel // Necklace - Topshop
Earrings - Topshop

I've joined the ripped jeans brigade. I resisted for so so long but I was forced to buy them. So here's the story, my dark wash jamie jeans were actually ripped and falling apart (but not in a cool way) so I went into Topshop to get a new pair, only to be told that that colour is a A/W colour! Sorry I didn't know blue jeans were only 'in' in Autumn... anywho, I needed another pair of jeans and wasn't going to leave without them, so I thought, why not try something new. I mean the quality of the jean is the same, just with rips to give my knees room to breathe, right? And, well, I fell in love...

On a side note, I swear that the weather cannot make it's mind up lately - one minute it's baking hot, the next I'm shivering under a brolly. Happy summertime, eh?

Nails - A Nude Thing.

I love a good nude... polish; they're are so versatile and wearable season to season. That said, when I love something, I tend to go a little crazy, so when it came to choosing the colours to feature in this post, I had to narrow them down to the seven before your eyes, the seven most different nudes.

It sounds weird, and I'm pretty sure that if you're not a beauty obsessive then you will see seven pretty similar colours in front of you, but no, no, no these are all totally different. Totally. It's an apples and oranges kinda thing. These go from the nudest nude selection through mushroom nudeville before finally stopping at pinkest nude station.

If I had to pick one my favourite would have to be the Deborah Lippmann beauty. It suits my skin tone  to no end and has the magical ability to make my hands look elegant and ladylike.

Wedding Wears.

Dress - French Connection // Necklace - A gift // Watch - Michael Kors
Picture Below
Sunglasses - Cosmopolitan // Bag - Chanel // Shoes - Topshop (really old)

Hey Girlies!

I've had a pretty brilliant weekend! And this outfit was what I wore for the first part of it as my lovely friends got married! It was such a beautiful day and I had the best time AND the weather was actually nice! Who'd have thought it, sunshine in June??

I've loved this French Connection dress from afar for sometime, so when I saw it in the sale for half price I saw it as a sign that I had to get it, because sometimes things are just meant to be right? You can't fight fate (these were the things I told myself as I handed my card to the sales assistant).

The awesomeness that was this weekend was capped off when I got my degree classification and got a 2:1! *high 5's myself*

So, yeah I had a bit of a fab weekend, how did you enjoy yours?

Simple and Sparkle.

Vest - Primark // Jeans - Topshop // Watch - Michael Kors // Bag - Chanel // Sunglasses - Marks & Spencer // Shoes - Kurt Geiger

When it's this nice outside, the last thing I want to do is throw on layers of clothes or loads of accessories; sometimes it has to be a simple vest and jeans situation. So what better to accessorise with than Chanel and this new beauts of a pair of shoes?

I'm so fussy when it comes to shoes so I never suggest anyone get them for me as a present - just ask my boyfriend, I think I traumatised him into never wanting to ever buy me a pair! - but my cousin truly succeeded with these beauties! They add just the right amount of sparkle to the most simple outfits. I think it's love.

A Few New Additions.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Deep Peach // Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Cappuccino
NARS Bronzing Powder in Casino // MAC Lipstick in Capricious

Hi Guys!

So I've made a few minor additions to my collection and I love them all so I thought I'd let you know about them.

Bobbi Brown Corrector - for the past couple of months I've been getting some real bad boy dark circles under my eyes. They have definitely eased slightly since I handed in my dissertation (phew), but I really wanted something to help cover them up for future times when more sleep is not an option. I was matched on a Bobbi Brown counter and it's a perfect shade for counteracting my dark circles. I use it before my foundation and without the concealer - I'm yet to purchased the creamy concealer, but it's next on my hit-list (ssshhh, don't tell my debit card).

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation - I've had this foundation for around 2 months and I definitely think it's going to be the base I mix with my moisturiser for the summer months. I've heard this be compared to a lighter coverage NARS Sheer Glow which I've always been intrigued about because of all the hype around it. Nearly Naked has a lovely finish, not dewy but not matte, it sits somewhere in the middle, I blend it in with my fingers and then buff it out with a buffing brush. I love the fact that it's a high street make up brand and a good colour match for me, which is something that's quite hard to find.

NARS Bronzing Powder - I featured this in my everyday make up post because as soon as I purchased this beauty I haven't looked back. It's love. Before this I had never used a bronzer, and nowadays, even if its a light sweep of whatever is leftover on my brush from the day before, I don't do my make up without it.

MAC Lipstick in Capricious - My new favourite nude. Don't get me wrong, I love love love my Chanel lipstick, but it's just so precious to me that I don't ever want it to run out. This lipstick is ridiculously wearable and the lustre finish means it's quite moisturising on the lips.

I'm seriously in love with all of these products, have you got any new additions that you've been loving?

Boucle + Leather

Jacket - Zara // Vest - Primark // Trousers - H&M // Shoes - Office
Necklace - H&M // Sunglasses - Marks & Spencer // Bag - Chanel

Hello lovelies!

How sunny was it this weekend? Even though I was mainly dissertation-ing (It's due in less than a month now!) I did get out to enjoy a few rays. Despite the sun, it wasn't the warmest day ever so I thought I would try out my faux leather trousers.

I was a bit dubious when I purchased these with images of Ross from Friends's mishap swarming my mind, but I bit the bullet nonetheless. I'm no the tiniest girl in the world so I wanted some that had a bit of give and these H&M ones were the best I found for £24.99, although it was heart-breaking to have to go a size up in them.

On an even sadder note, tomorrow I go back to uni after Easter break for my last few weeks as a student. I would love to know where those three years have gone!

The Everyday Make Up.

Hello My Lovelies!

So I wrote this post and was about to publish it and everything, with the whole post dedicated to the poignancy of it being my 100th post -  when I realised I had a draft post lurking around and it's actually my 99th. Fail. Oh well, this my almost 100th - 1.

I was having a look back at my previous blog posts and realised I've never done a post about my everyday make up! Of course this does vary from time to time but this winter I've rarely deviated from these products and brushes for my daytime make up.

Firstly I obviously cleanse and moisture, (I'm thinking about doing a separate skincare routine post?) then I pop on some of the Ginzing eye cream on. Now I know that this is technically an eye cream but I thought for all the shimmer in it, it could be seen as a brightener of some sorts, which is how I see it. I then apply lip balm, otherwise my lips are super dry and lip products won't apply smoothly.

Base - I then go in with my foundation. This winter I've been loving the Le Teint Touche Eclat but as it  moves into spring (hard to believe, I know) and summer I switch to my Bareminerals matte powder. I dot the foundation on my face then buff it into my skin, sometimes I just use my fingers. Next I dot some concealer on my blemishes and down the centre of my nose buffing it out with the Real Techniques deluxe crease brush. I don't use this concealer under my eyes as when I have in the past I've found that it tends to gather in creases - not what you want from a concealer really, so I'm on the hunt for another.

Brows - I brush through them then use my brow kit; the wax sparsely, then the powder, applying with my Real Techniques brow brush. I then brush through them again removing excess.

Eyes - Day to day I normally just do subtle winged eyeliner. I first apply the Rimmel kohl liner in a thin line then to make it really dark then use the Soap & Glory liner to make the line smooth. I just find that using the Rimmel makes the line a lot darker. Followed by lashings of mascara.

Cheeks - I then apply some NARS bronzer with my contour brush, dusting along the top of the hollows of my cheeks, forehead and chin. Bronzer is a new step for me I only got it at the end of December but I love including it now! Next up is blush! I got my Gino McCray blusher in Thailand last time I was there and it's like it's never ending, which is good because it's my favourite. I first use my Mac 168 dabbing it on my cheeks and sweeping it up on my cheekbones, I then use the Mac 187 to blend the colour out a bit more to make it natural.

Lips - I normally keep it simple with a nude lipstick; my current favourite is my Chanel lipstick in Determinee.

Throughout the day if get a bit oily I use the Bobbi Brown pressed powder and my powder brush down the centre of my face.

And there you have it, a rather long post about my everyday make up! What are some of your everyday products?

That Grey Jumper.

Jumper - Lyle & Scott // Jeans - Zara
Shoes - Kurt Geiger // Bag - Chanel // Earrings - ASOS
Rings - Topshop

Hey lovelies,

Is it just me or do any of you have that jumper that you wear with anything? For me it's definitely this jumper it's a mens medium so it's slouchy and oversized but not too much; and is so comfy. It's one of those that I can just throw on; simple as, no thought required.

Teaming it with my favourite platforms and favourite bag, I think I've created a new go-to smart casual outfit.

p.s Happy belated Valentine's day :)

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 108

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 108

Hello My Lovelies!

So as a belated birthday present from my lovely big sister I got my hands on my first Chanel lipstick! Having dipped my foot into the designer make up pool with foundations and the occasional pinch from my mum's make up bag, I decided that it was about time I actually owned my very own little piece of luxury other than just a base.

I've heard such good things about Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick I decided it was the formula I had to have (plus it has that amazing clicky open/close function!) and after manically swatching every shade on the Chanel counter, I finally chose the shade 108.

I knew that I wanted it to be a 'my lips but better' shade, as, if it was a brighter colour it would be one of those things that I cherish and take out to look at every now and again, but never actually wear.

I'm so in love with this lipstick, the formula is creamy and moisturising and sits on your lips comfortably without being balm-like. It was such a perfect present for me, as, although I'll spend ridiculous money on clothes and shoes; lipstick isn't something I splash out on. So this is my little treasure!

What's your little make up luxury?

Black&Beige

Jacket - Vintage // Vest - H&M // Jeans - Topshop // Necklace - H&M
Bag - Chanel // Ring - Topshop // Shoes - Office

This is probably the most put-together I’ve looked in yonks. I’ve had this jacket in the back of my wardrobe collecting dust for absolutely ages, just like this polka dot dress, it was my mums when she was younger, and she couldn’t bear to part with it, so since I still live at home, it just moved wardrobes. I haven’t really worn it because the sleeves are too short and it’s been too cold to wear them rolled up like they are here, and in previous years I never really felt mature enough to pull the tres sophisticated look off.

I teamed it with my brogues for a mannish punch to the outfit and added my beloved 2.55 to complete the tres chic-ness.

In other news I bought MAC studio fix fluid foundation to other day and I’m loving it so far, I’m definitely going to do a proper review of it very soon!

I’ve also been busy creating accounts for my blog, so you can:
