I've joined the ripped jeans brigade. I resisted for so so long but I was forced to buy them. So here's the story, my dark wash jamie jeans were actually ripped and falling apart (but not in a cool way) so I went into Topshop to get a new pair, only to be told that that colour is a A/W colour! Sorry I didn't know blue jeans were only 'in' in Autumn... anywho, I needed another pair of jeans and wasn't going to leave without them, so I thought, why not try something new. I mean the quality of the jean is the same, just with rips to give my knees room to breathe, right? And, well, I fell in love... 

On a side note, I swear that the weather cannot make it's mind up lately - one minute it's baking hot, the next I'm shivering under a brolly. Happy summertime, eh?

My beloved chelsea boots are on their way out. The soles are wearing down faster and faster and I think they are a knock away from death. I have four other pairs of black ankle boots but these are by far my favourite; they're worn in and loved, like the shoe equivalent of an old hoody. I'm on the hunt for a new pair but I know they're not going to be the same... that's the worst isn't it?

As soon as Autumn falls upon us, I have a urge to break out the faux fur gilet. However, as much as I love it, I hardly ever seem to wear it! I go to put it on, spin around, shrug and then swap it for my trusty leather jacket. I think it's something to do with the lack of sleeves, it automatically makes me think I'll be cold. 

I finally wore it out the other day though, granted I was driving to where I was going but still I did it, and I wasn't even that cold... much.

So after being dragged (ok well lightly pulled) into TK Maxx by my mum, I was convinced that I wasn't going to find anything in there on this occasion. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who finds Tk Maxx very hit and miss, sometimes you find an absolute gem, other times you wish you hadn't bothered. 

Well, this visit I found a gem in the shape of the perfume I've wanted for absolutely ages, but have held off after receiving Versace Bright Crystal for my birthday (which I adore). It's rare for me to have more than one perfume on the go, I normally prefer having a 'scent' that smells like me for a significant period of time. I think I get it from my mum, she has a few perfumes but she'll have her own 'scent' for a long time, so nowadays I can't smell Jimmy Choo perfume without thinking of her!

Anyway I digress, I was perusing the cosmetic section when I saw two of these Lovestruck perfume sets, one had the perfume and rollerball missing (typical) the other one was in perfect condition. 

I think it's always best to check any cosmetics you buy from any store but especially a discount store so I took each out and tested it. 

Lovestruck has a musky vanilla-ry yet immensely floral scent (can you tell how great I am at describing smell?). I love it, and it's great because the musky/woody notes means it works for autumn/winter too.

Here is the most awesome part though, in this set you get a 75ml body wash, 75ml body lotion a rollerball eau de parfum and a 100ml eau de parfum, RRP £85 -  for £34.99. 

Debenhams sell the 100ml EDP alone for £62 in store. 

I know that TK Maxx varies in stock store to store but have a look for similar deals in a store near you!

The Tropics.

At the copa, copacabana, the hottest spot north of Havana...

la la la la la la la la la...

Not gonna lie, don't know the rest...

But I do know that I look like I belong at the copa copacabana in this outfit. Especially with the hat. But I love the hat. 

With this glorious (if not slightly stifling) weather I thought it was only right to bring out the tropics in the form of this dress from Tk Maxx, I love the floral on black look and the material is so lightweight and breezy! 

I forgot to capture my outfit for Wireless festival which I went to on Saturday! It was amazing but so so hot so I ended up wearing my dungaree dress, a white tee underneath with my yellow converse. I definitely looked like an overgrown schoolchild, but I'm ok with that.

So as much as I love this time of year, I don't love the fact that when I wake up, it's pitch black. It doesn't entice me to wake up and it's the worst lighting to do your make up in (seriously got to uni once, went to the toilets, caught a glimpse of my face in the mirror and discovered I had scarlet cheeks. Not cool). 

On top of this, I have all morning lectures this semester and it takes me an hour and a half to get to uni. it's the stuff of nightmares for real.

So you'd be surprised to know, as I was when I realised, that today I was ready 40 minutes early, but I got outside and thought "wait a minute it's still dark, this isn't right"so I utilised my mum's 'early-bird-ness' and got her to take these pictures.

I'm not really sure how they turned out half ok as I was basically still asleep. In fact the first picture is me falling asleep standing up. 

But we can all rejoice as I have a free day tomorrow. Hell yeah.

Stila Virgin

Lol. Call me a nerd, but I’m quite proud of that pun! It’s the journo in me bursting to get out!

Anyhow onto the products!

I really was a Stila virgin, but I’ve always wanted to try the brand out as I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad review. However where I like to come across products in Boots, Superdrug or in the beauty hall of a department store, Stila never really seem to be, well, anywhere.

The last place I thought I’d find some Stila is in Tk Maxx. But I did. I’m normally useless at finding gems in Tk Maxx, my mum has that gift, but I get weary and irritated. But it was last Thursday evening just after I handed in all my coursework for Semester B and my ‘summer’ had just officially begun (despite the weather) so I was feeling free – cue shopping addiction flare up.

I normally only go to Tk Maxx to accompany my mum, and that’s exactly what I was doing, except this time as I was perusing the beauty section, I noticed, wow I know these brands, Stila, Estee Lauder, Nails Inc (which I also picked up and will post about) and Pixi, and more… I couldn’t believe my eyes, and all for chunks off of the rrp!

I had to think rationally, otherwise I would have probably slightly over done it, so I stuck to two purchases and these were just one of them.

You see, in Tk Maxx they package up beauty items into bundles – and these three Stila products cost £7.99, yes £7.99 for all of them!

I suppose the down side is that you can’t pick and choose which ones you want, but I’m quite happy with the ones I got and for £7.99 I can’t really complain. So in my ‘package’ I got:

Major Lash Mascara

  Convertible Eye Colour in Berry

Silk Shadow Wash in Kitten 

I looked around the internet and the combined rrp for these products is around £38 so I got about £30 off! Absolute bargain! The products are great too, really can’t complain, I would have thought that with them being that cheap, there must be a catch! But so far, there really isn’t.

Above is a look that I did with all three products, along with MAC’s paint pot in Constructivist.

I really really like these products, but I’m not sure I’d buy them full price, I think that a major part of what I like about them is the price I paid.

But the best thing is that I’ve tried Stila. Keeks no longer equals, Stila Virgin. I popped my Stila cherry if you will. Ok, ok I’ll stop it there before I pun myself into oblivion!
