Bourjois 12 Hour Aqua Blush

Bourjois Aqua Blushes in Berry Nice, Cocoricorail and Pink Twice

Ahhh cream blushes... does make-up get more summery than fresh-looking, dewy skin? The answer is no, and Bourjois have got you cover in the dewy department with the launch of their 12 Hour Aqua blushes.

The blushes will be launching nationwide in June, and be prepared to swoon (#poet)

The formula - A super-blendable creamy gel texture, that you need a pump of to do both cheeks, the formula is definitely buildable too if you prefer a heavier blush.

The colour range - There are four colours in the range, however only one, when blended, that is visible on my dark complexion, which is slightly annoying (Berry  Nice for reference).

I'm really impressed with the formula of these blushes, and their staying power is great (I'm not exactly sure about 12 hours...) it's just a shame that there aren't deeper colours for darker skin-tones.

You can grab the Bourjois Aqua Blushes nationwide from June

Video - The Spring Beauty Switch-Up

Spring beauty means two things for me, prepping to bare for the summer and integrating lighter, brighter products into my routine. So I made a video talking about all the things I switch up for this season!

Bourjois La Laque Nail Polishes

I'm such a polish hoarder, so much so I can't actually close my huge nail polish draw now and banned myself from buying anymore last year. A strict one in one out policy. This however is hard when you're a beauty journalist and are constantly introduced to new exciting launches, such as this. The new Bourjois La Laque polishes are a collection of 12 bright colours formulated with a non-drip one swipe brush.

I'm really impressed with the formula of these polishes. I'm yet to try the white and pale pink, but the darker colours I've tried really only need one coat for pretty opaque coverage and the brush covers the whole nail. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the semi-matte finish, but that's nothing that a glossy top coat won't fix.

Bourjois La Laque polishes will be available from May

Into the blue

I know that winter means deep berry and red shades are the nail colours of choice, but for me there is something about a good shade of blue that I’m attracted to in the icier months.

It was only at the weekend when me and my bestie were having a sofa Saturaday and she asked if I have a blue vanish and I brought down 11, I realised I had an affinity to the colour.

I like all of these formulas, but I have to say that the Nails Inc Gel Effect is definitely the longest lasting for me – it seriously doesn’t budge. The Barry M Gelly High Shine Nail paint have some gorgeous colours but for me they are a one day jobby before chipping so I’ll just pop them on for an occasion/ night out.

Do any of you have an unusually large amount of nail polish or does the cheese stand alone?

The Autumn Face - Lips and Eyes?

If we were playing word association and someone was to say ‘autumn’, most people would say ‘cold’ or ‘fallen leaves’ or something to that effect, but me, well I’d probably go for ‘new coat’ or ‘berry lips’ – I mean, they are my favourite things about this season (what can I say I'm a clothes and beauty addict)

I’m always for the rule 'eyes or lips' just like 'boobs or legs', it’s just nicer to accentuate one. However, I think I make an exception in the autumn, teaming rich brown eyeshadow with a berry lip. I love the M.A.C Paint Pot in Constructivist - for darker skin it gives a nice wash of colour without looking too heavy or borderline smoky, then finish the eyes with the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar Ink.

Having dry skin is the bane of my life and this just gets worse around this time of year. My lips don’t escape this, so a good balm is vital and I like to use moisturising lipsticks during the colder months because cracked lips aren’t an option. I think as long as one feature is still more accentuated, it's fun to experiment with richer tones -just don't go OTT homies.

Hey Dolls,

So every year I get super excited about the prospect of fancy dress for Halloween, and it never happens! I'm in my third year at uni and I've done fancy dress once. Such a bad student.

So as I thought I'd be doing nothing again this Halloween (more on that later), I decided to get my vamp on with some berry lipstick. I'm not usually one for dark lips because they are so high maintenance with the reapplication and the, "have I got lipstick on my teeth????" but I haven't had any mishaps with this one yet and because it's a Lustre finish it feels really moisturising and doesn't leave my lips dry.

So I am actually doing something this Halloween, I'm going out with one of my best friends Emma dressed as Angry Birds. Yes as in the game. Wish me luck.

I'm going to pop a picture on my twitter when we're dressed, so if you're not already following, the links here!

Are any of you dressing up for Halloween parties?

Bourjois Boutique

This blog post is veryoverdue, but I won’t make any waffle-y excuses, I’ll just get stuck in.

So last week Sunday my friend and I popped along to the Bourjois Boutique, which was a little pop-up shop for London Fashion Week held on the top floor of Beach Blanket Babylon in Shoreditch, a lovely cocktail lounge/restaurant. We arrived at about 12.45 and were greeted with a goody bag and a slip, that you wrote the products you wanted on (I’ll tell you about that later), the room was quite small but as we arrived quite early, it wasn’t that busy so there was enough space to move around.

All of the Bourjois’ make-up range was laid out over a couple of stations as testers, which you could try out and if you wanted to buy it, you wrote the product number and colour down on your slip. As well as the make up there were stations were you could get your nails done and get makeovers, as well as some gorgeous clothes from Never Fully Dressed.

The best part about the boutique was that everything was discounted, as there was this deal…

Amaze!

I knew that I wanted one of their lipglosses as I’ve always like them, they hold a goodcolour and they don’t feel tacky on your lips, but I had know idea what else toget…

In the end I got amascara for my mum, a gorgeous nudey-darkey-pink nail polish a smokey eye eyeliner in dark brown and one of the 3D lipglosses in a coral/peach – all for £14,result!

I waited until we left the boutique to open my goody bag, and I was not disappointed, I actually would have been happy to just leave with the loot in the goody bag!
The goody bag included:

-A mini 3D lipgloss
-A discoball shaped pink lip balm
-A light-up compact mirror
-A glittery black eyeshadow
-And a Bourjois foam cleanser (?!)

(I didn’t even know they did skincare, but I’ve tried the cleanser and it leaves your skin really soft.)

Overall I was happy that I popped along to the boutique and if it comes back next fashion week, I’d recommend it!

Right, I’m off to stand in the sunshine so I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather because it won’t last long!
