What I Wore: Motel Christmas Blogger Party

Jumper - ASOS // Jeans - Topshop
Boots - Topshop

Hi Guys!

So on Monday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Motel Rocks Christmas Blogger Party at Floripa. I was so excited but nervous for two reasons, one because, what would I wear?! And two, I was going alone so I was obviously going to be a lonely loner sulking about in the corner of the room.

Well in regards to the outfit, I thought that it would better to play it safe-ish with jeans and my ambush boots, especially as I was going alone, and teamed it with my new carpet jumper, I call it this because it reminds me of an Ikea rug but I love it. The sheer detail make it less carpet-y, almost makes the 'carpet look' sexy (I said almost).

And about the whole loner thing, it actually wasn't that bad, I spoke to some of my favourite bloggers,   in the queue outside got to know the lovely Joy waiting for my eyelashes to be applied for before heading to the photobooth and even hit up again with some more of my fave bloggers and youtubers. Everyone was so lovely, being a loner wasn't even an issue.

To cap the evening off, on top of the scrummy festive cocktails and nibbles, being one of the first 50 guests inside, I got a free dress from the Motel Christmas Party range, I chose the 'Wild One' sequin bustier midi dress. It's so gorgeous, like the rest of the dresses, so if you're on the look out for something for the party season, I would definitely check them out.

Thank you Motel for a brilliant evening and for my early christmas pressie! :)

A.K.A Cosmetics

Hey guys,

I went to a great event last Thursday for a new cosmetics range called AKA cosmetics.

When I arrived I felt a little daunted, as I knew I wouldn’t know anyone there. But I was greeted at Vanilla lounge with a glass of champagne and a warm welcome from Katie and the Touch media girls and I began to feel a lot more at ease!

I met some lovely fellow bloggers there too like Emma, Christina, Beccy and Robin among others and it was so refreshing to talk to likeminded people that love fashion and beauty, and not just bore the boyfriend.

We were treated to, not only delicious canapés and cocktails (seriously the Strawberry Kiss cocktail was off the chaaaarts), but there were also manicure and make up stations to available to doll you up using the new products. As I had already done my nails, I opted to have my eyes done and asked for a green smoky eye using their eyeshadow quad and I loved the result, I would actually go as far to say that the eyeshadows were my favourite, they were quite pigmented and didn’t crease. We all got some fab stuff to try out and I was especially impressed with the nail polish and the lipgloss; however it seems more like a lip stain as it’s not tacky and goes on quite thinly, and the colour stays on for absolutely ages!

All in all the range is definitely something to try and I’m really excited to get my hands on the eyeshadow quad very soon. The prices on the website are quite reasonable, definitely more high street than high end which is great if your purse-strings are a little tight!

Bourjois Boutique

This blog post is veryoverdue, but I won’t make any waffle-y excuses, I’ll just get stuck in.

So last week Sunday my friend and I popped along to the Bourjois Boutique, which was a little pop-up shop for London Fashion Week held on the top floor of Beach Blanket Babylon in Shoreditch, a lovely cocktail lounge/restaurant. We arrived at about 12.45 and were greeted with a goody bag and a slip, that you wrote the products you wanted on (I’ll tell you about that later), the room was quite small but as we arrived quite early, it wasn’t that busy so there was enough space to move around.

All of the Bourjois’ make-up range was laid out over a couple of stations as testers, which you could try out and if you wanted to buy it, you wrote the product number and colour down on your slip. As well as the make up there were stations were you could get your nails done and get makeovers, as well as some gorgeous clothes from Never Fully Dressed.

The best part about the boutique was that everything was discounted, as there was this deal…

Amaze!

I knew that I wanted one of their lipglosses as I’ve always like them, they hold a goodcolour and they don’t feel tacky on your lips, but I had know idea what else toget…

In the end I got amascara for my mum, a gorgeous nudey-darkey-pink nail polish a smokey eye eyeliner in dark brown and one of the 3D lipglosses in a coral/peach – all for £14,result!

I waited until we left the boutique to open my goody bag, and I was not disappointed, I actually would have been happy to just leave with the loot in the goody bag!
The goody bag included:

-A mini 3D lipgloss
-A discoball shaped pink lip balm
-A light-up compact mirror
-A glittery black eyeshadow
-And a Bourjois foam cleanser (?!)

(I didn’t even know they did skincare, but I’ve tried the cleanser and it leaves your skin really soft.)

Overall I was happy that I popped along to the boutique and if it comes back next fashion week, I’d recommend it!

Right, I’m off to stand in the sunshine so I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather because it won’t last long!
